Sunday, February 5 - Special Service with Rev. O'Dowd to welcome hanging scolls of Shinran and Rennyo (founders of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism) to our shrine. We will observe the death of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni more than 2600 years ago.
9:30-10:00 A.M. Newcomer's briefing, come to learn the basics of Shin Buddhism and temple practices.
9:30-10:00 A.M. Music and Singing Practice
10:00-10:30 A.M. Meditation Service, Dharma school for children of all ages in our downstairs children's school area.
10:30-11:15 A.M. Special Service and Dharma Talk The scrolls were hand made and painted in Japan. They are a gift of Jane Kanemoto in memory of George Kanemoto, Jim Kanemoto, and Chiyo Kanemoto.
11:15-11:45 A.M. Tea, snacks and fellowship in the community room.
11:45-1:00 P.M. LBT General meeting to help define activities and direction for 2012. Everyone is welcome; temple members eligible to vote.
